| Asheville, NC is the eastern end of the BRS and includes the main switching yard, engine facility, and some local switching. Even though the railroad runs from Asheville to Murphy, the unique track plan allows trains to leave going east or west. A crew of 2 is kept busy with local industries, making up trains, servicing through trains and servicing trains coming onto the BRS from Knoxville and Charlotte. | |
