Blue Ridge and Southern-Andrews

Andrews is the fifth town west of Asheville and is the final town before coming to Murphy. Andrews has minimal trackage to service many industries so switch crews must plan carefully if they expect to get everything done before their shift ends. One long track contains four industries (Waldensian Baking Co., Johnson Inc., The Charlotte Observer, and King Publishing), which create many problems moving cars in and out.

Crews working Andrews start their shift here doing their pick ups, then running to the Asheville Yard to take the cars picked up and get the cars to be set out. Crews must then return to Andrews and make the set outs before the shift is done.
